Dear Hillsboro Planning Commission,
The community has raised many objections to Sky Harbour’s proposal, including deficiencies in public notice and due process. If approved, this luxury jet hangar development would have negative impacts on many levels: locally, regionally, environmentally, economically, and socially. Thankfully, the Hillsboro Community Development Code allows you to consider these negative impacts when making your land use decision.
Specifically, section 12.80.040.H of the CDC includes two Approval Criteria that Sky Harbour’s proposal has failed to meet: "(d) The design and operating characteristics of the proposed development are reasonably compatible with surrounding development and land uses; and (e) Negative impacts of the development have been sufficiently minimized or mitigated."
The design and operating characteristics of the proposed development are NOT reasonably compatible with surrounding development and land uses. The negative impacts of the development have NOT been sufficiently minimized or mitigated. These negative impacts would be perpetual and widespread. Therefore, I respectfully request that DR-044-25 be denied.
